Terms and conditions.
Last updated: 19 October 2026
These terms apply when you use our website and when you book The Studio, a hot desk or a viewing with us. Please read them before you book.
About us
Stirling Place is a trading name of Cygnus Workspaces Ltd, a company registered in England and Wales (company number 11319108, VAT number 311 7717 22). Our registered office is Stirling Place, 22–24 High Street, Cleator Moor, Cumbria, CA25 5LB. You can contact us at hello@stirlingplace.co.uk or through our Get in touch page.
If you have an office or membership agreement with us, that agreement applies to your office or membership, and takes priority over these terms if they differ.
Booking
You must be 18 or over to book.
Your booking is confirmed when we email you a confirmation. Please check the details and tell us straight away if anything is wrong.
Prices are shown in pounds and include any VAT that applies. The price you pay is the one shown when you book.
If you book for a company or other organisation, you confirm you have its authority to do so.
Paying
Bookings are paid by card when you book. Payments are handled securely by Stripe.
Members logged in to the member area aren't asked to pay when they book. Instead, the booking is added to their account's next monthly invoice, which is payable as set out in their agreement.
When you book The Studio by card, Stripe keeps your card securely so we can charge any extra time on your booking to it. We never see or store your full card number.
Cancelling or moving a booking
You can cancel or move a booking online, from the link in your confirmation email, until 24 hours before it starts.
If you cancel in time, we refund the full amount to the card you paid with. For members, it's taken off your invoice. Refunds can take a few days to reach your account.
You can move a booking to another free time of the same length, at no charge.
Less than 24 hours before the start, bookings can't be cancelled, moved or refunded online. Get in touch and we'll help if we can.
Viewings are free. You can cancel or move a viewing online at any time before it starts.
If we have to cancel your booking, we'll tell you as soon as we can and give you a full refund, or a new time if you'd prefer.
Using our space
Please arrive and leave on time. If you need longer, add extra time from your booking page if The Studio's free. If you stay on beyond your booking without adding it, we'll charge the extra time at the hourly rate, to the card you paid with or, for members, on your monthly invoice, and email you when we do.
Please treat the building, furniture and equipment with care, and follow any reasonable instructions from our team. You're responsible for any damage you or your guests cause, other than normal wear and tear.
We may end a booking without a refund if the space is used unsafely, unlawfully or in a way that disturbs other people in the building.
Our responsibility to you
We'll provide our services with reasonable care and skill.
Nothing in these terms limits our responsibility for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud, or for anything else the law doesn't allow us to limit.
If you book for your business, we're not responsible for loss of profit, business or opportunity, or for losses that weren't foreseeable. Our total responsibility for any booking is limited to the price you paid for it.
If you're a consumer, you have legal rights that these terms don't affect. For information about your rights, contact Citizens Advice.

We try to keep our website accurate and available, but we can't promise it will always be error-free or uninterrupted. Office availability and prices can change until a booking or agreement is confirmed.
Please don't misuse the website, for example by trying to get unauthorised access, or by sending false or automated bookings.

Changes to these terms
We may update these terms from time to time. The terms that apply to a booking are the ones on our website when you made it.
